The Office of Communications, Office of Marketing and Office of Web and Digital Services will form a stand-alone division beginning July 1, according to Acting President William Gilligan’s email correspondence with the Emerson community Thursday morning..

This standalone division will report to Vice President and Chief of Staff Anne Shaughnessey and “will prepare the ground for the next president and improve the institution’s capabilities in reputation management, marketing and the management of its digital assets.

The transition was brought about in an effort to centralize their role on campus, increase collaboration with other Emerson offices, and better enable access to their services for all members of the Emerson community, wrote Gilligan.

The new structure will continue to manage Emerson’s crisis communications and other internal and external communications, while ensuring accessibility requirements are met and digital properties are managed.

“This change in organizational structure will allow the College to better focus our priorities, our processes and the support of our community, he wrote.
