In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, the Town of Suffolk offices will be closed on Monday.
Normal operations will resume at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The Suffolk Public Works Department will collect rubbish as scheduled from May 31 to June 3. TFC Recycling will also be operating its normal recycling collection routes from May 31 through June 3.
Garbage cans must be placed at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on collection day. For more information on waste collection, call Public Works at 757-514-7630.
The Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA) transfer station in Suffolk and the regional landfill will be open Monday from 8 a.m. to noon.
Suffolk Transit will not operate on Monday.
All common-use leisure facilities at Suffolk Parks and Recreation (Mack Benn Jr., Booker T. Washington, Kings Fork, Creekside, Northern Shores and Oakland) will be closed on Monday, as will the East Suffolk Leisure Center and the Curtis R. Milteer Sr. Recreation Center.
The Suffolk Art Gallery will be closed on Monday, as will all public libraries in Suffolk (Morgan Memorial, North Suffolk, Chuckatuck). The Morgan Memorial and North Suffolk libraries will reopen at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. The Chuckatuck Library will reopen Monday, June 6 at 10 a.m.
The Suffolk Visitor Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday. The Suffolk Seaboard Station Railroad Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday.
The Suffolk Executive Airport terminal will be unmanned on Monday. The aerodrome, the self-service refueling island and the restaurant will remain open.
