Nagpur: As of Tuesday, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will allow entry into government offices only to people who have taken both doses of the Covid vaccine.
As part of the Break the Chain directives, City Commissioner Radhakrishnan B on Monday issued a new ordinance making two doses mandatory for employees working in various establishments and citizens visiting government offices.
Employees of educational institutions such as schools, colleges, coaching classes, training institutes, etc. will need two doses of the vaccine. Likewise, double vaccination is compulsory for citizens aged 18 and over traveling by Aapli bus, autorickshaw or any other mode of public transport.
“In some places at least one dose is required. This ordinance will come into effect on November 9. NMC will conduct random inspections at all locations. There will be punitive measures if irregularities are discovered, ”Radhakrishnan said.
According to the NMC ordinance, management and staff working in religious places and citizens entering these places should have received two doses of the vaccine. “A vaccination certificate and photo ID must be displayed at the entrance. Citizens participating in social events, meetings, conventions, religious processions and festivals will also have to complete two doses and will need to be provided with vaccination certificates, ”the city chief said in a press release.
Government, semi-government and private offices, employees working in similar organizations, agents, all visitors over the age of 18 visiting such places will need to have two or at least the first dose of Covid vaccine.
At least one dose is mandatory for all citizens over the age of 18 and people visiting parks, libraries, study rooms, wedding halls, lawns and public places.
Owners and employees of markets and stores should also have completed both doses. For the hawkers, the NMC asked for at least one dose. Similar conditions will apply for workers on construction sites.
For those working in public, semi-public and private health facilities, both doses are mandatory.
In all these places, depending on the order, it will be necessary to present the vaccination certificate as well as the identity card with photo. Boys and girls under the age of 18 will need to show appropriate proof of their age.
