covid: Covid vaccine certificate must be verified at all government offices in Aurangabad | Aurangabad News

AURANGABAD: The District Covid-19 Task Force made it mandatory to check vaccination certificates at all Aurangabad district government offices because they (the certificates) are readily available on cellphones, according to one official press release.
Previously, vaccination certificates were only needed for visitors at a few key government offices, which included the Aurangabad District Collector and the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
The task force also announced that at least one doctor will be present at the primary health center (PHC), at all times, and will focus on early morning and late evening vaccine deliveries.
Rural areas in the district are still lagging behind in terms of Covid vaccination, especially the second dose. According to official data, in rural areas, the first dose was administered to 68% of target beneficiaries compared to 69% within the municipal limits of Aurangabad. However, only 25% of beneficiaries took the second dose in rural areas, compared to 38% in urban areas.
Meena Shelke, President of Aurangabad zilla parishad, said: “The immunization program has been made more flexible and convenient. Given the Covid-19 outbreak in other parts of the world, vaccination has become essential for rural masses across the country. ”
Amid the low number of vaccinations in areas dominated by minority communities, the task force decided to license general practitioners from the Muslim community as vaccinators with an appropriate protocol. They also decided to involve more Malawians in the vaccination campaign to vaccinate a greater number of beneficiaries in the community. In addition, the working group, led by the Aurangabad District Collector, decided to offer temporary incentives to the workforce involved in the execution of the “Har Ghar Dastak” campaign in the municipal areas. for the next month.
