THE FULL MOON NIGHT

"Once in the month when the Moon is full ye shall gather in a secret place and worship me Queen of all Witches."

Once in the month the Moon is Full and this is the time of worship and veneration of our Goddess.

Our honoring the Goddess, Queen of all Witches, at her appointed time, is very important and every effort should be made to do so on this one night of the month.

We are not a religion of convenience. Putting the Full Moon ritual off until the weekend because "that is when everyone can be there" should not be the rule.

In modern practice, the "three day rule" has become common - one night before the fullest light, the full moon light, and the one night after the fullest light. This is a modern construction and does not fulfill the Goddess’s request.

From a magickal point of view the "three day rule" is acceptable if you want to do a working with the understanding of the energy influence of this time. Meaning the one night before the fullest light, still waxing, is the Maiden light. The night of the full moon light, is the Mother light, and then the night after the fullest light, waning, is the Crone light. But to honor our Lady…well…

Astrologically the Full Moon always falls in the opposite sign (the detriment) of the Sun.

The theme of polarity in the Universe is revealing itself again.
